Making a timeline of world history

Day 4
Japan in the 1500's
Looking at images from art, students see what life was like in Japan in the 1500's.

Compare/Contrast Japan in the 1500's with life in the US today.

Day 5
Inside a Japanese house
Looking at a GLAD drawing, students see what life was like in Japan in the 1500's.

Compare/Contrast inside a Japanese house with the inside of a house today.

Day 6
Oda Nobunaga
Students learn about palace life and the sort of tea party Oda practiced. Drawing Oda's Tea Cup
Day 7
Samurai
Students learn by observing teacher drawing a GLAD drawing of a samurai.
Day 8
Samurai

Students make samurai helmets from paper bags.

In drama activity, students "become" samurais as they "dress" for the day.

Sen no Rikyu
Students learn about the life of Sen no Rikyu and his style of tea ceremony. Compare/Contrast Tea Cups and the Tea Master and The Shogun.
