As we all prepare ourselves for the need to provide Curriculum-Based Assessment results for the Washington State legislature, there is pressure to put together projects that will fit both the legislative agenda and what we teach in the classroom. Below is a list of CBA projects that fit with the units co-taught in classrooms by The Historian in Residence.

HISTORY: What's the Big Idea?: "How did the idea of slavery affect people in Aemrican in 1850?"

Seattle History

CIVICS: You Decide: "Make an informed decision on the issue of logging in Washington State."
CIVICS: Whose Rules?: "Analyze the Treaty of Point Elliott, evaluating its effectiveness using the democratic ideals as a criteria."
GEOGRAPHY: Humans and the Environment: "Analyze how the Puget Sound environment affected the development of the post-1850 Seattle culture, how the people of Puget Sound impacted their environment."

Oregon Trail

GEOGRAPHY: People on the Move: "Choose a group of people and describe how their needs and wants (economic reasons) and location (geography)
caused them to move. You will also create a map illustrating this movement."
